From Two Carports to a Full-Service Shop

Airport Tire started next door in 2016, under a lean-to with two small carports. It grew from there on repeat customers and word of mouth.

How it started

In 2016 this was a lean-to and two small carports on the property next door. No showroom. No alignment rack. No warehouse full of tires. Just the work, and whoever turned up needing it done.

People came back. They told other people. The shop got bigger because it had to.

Where it is now

Roughly five years in the current building: four bays, a warehouse of new tires, a yard of used ones, computerized alignment equipment, and service trucks that run around the clock.

The work runs from a compact car tire to an 18-wheeler, and takes in brakes, A/C, front end, diagnostics, split rims and aluminum wheel welding along the way.

Bigger building. Same shop.

Why people keep coming back

Quality, speed and a straight answer. If a tire can be repaired, we repair it. If an alignment is not what your vehicle needs, we will tell you that rather than sell you one.

Regulars know the crew by name, and most new customers turn up because somebody they trust sent them.

Other shops call too

Customers are not the only ones who send work here. Other shops call for alignments they cannot do, tire sizes they cannot get, and specialty jobs their own equipment will not handle.

“Airport Tire gets it done. And people know it.”
Chuck, owner

The crew

The shop runs on people who have done this a long time and move quickly because they know what they are doing, not because anybody is rushing them.

It is a working shop. Most days there are several vehicles in the bays at once and somebody at the counter answering the phone while it happens.

Across from the airport

The name is not a marketing idea. The shop sits on Hwy 64 directly across from Van Zandt County Regional Airport, and that is simply where the business is.

It turned out to be a useful thing to be across from. Nobody needs the address twice when you can tell them to look for the airport.

Get a price or book the work

Most people call — it is usually the fastest way to get a real answer. If it is easier to type it out, send the details and we will get back to you.

Request a tire quote

Have your tire size ready if you can — it is on the sidewall, and plenty of people run a size different from what the vehicle came with.
